Campaigns
Campaigns let you send a single email to a large list of contacts at once (broadcast send).

| Best for | Announcements, newsletters | Sales outreach, nurture |
Creating a Campaign
- Go to Campaigns → New Campaign
- Name your campaign (internal name — contacts don't see this)
- Choose a contact list — or create a new list from a filtered contact view
- Write your email:
- Subject line
- From name and reply-to address
- Email body (use the rich editor or paste HTML)
- Include
{{contact.firstName}}and{{unsubscribe_link}}
- Preview — see how the email looks and check variable substitution
- Send a test — enter your email to receive the actual email
- Schedule or send:
- Send now — sends immediately
- Schedule — pick a date and time (respects your workspace timezone)
- Click Send Campaign or Schedule
Contact Lists
A contact list is a saved group of contacts used for campaign sends.
Create a list from a filter:
- Go to CRM → Contacts
- Apply filters (e.g., "Stage = Lead, Created in last 90 days")
- Click Save as List
- Give the list a name
Manage lists: go to Campaigns → Lists to view, rename, or delete lists.
Dynamic vs. static:
- Lists are static at creation — the contacts in the list are snapshotted when you send
- To send to new contacts matching the same criteria, re-create the list from the filter
Scheduling
Campaigns can be scheduled for any future date and time.
Tips:
- Tuesday–Thursday outperforms Monday and Friday for B2B
- 9–11 AM in the recipient's timezone typically gets the best open rates
- Prerak sends at the scheduled time in your workspace timezone (set in Settings)
To cancel a scheduled campaign: go to the campaign → click Cancel Schedule.
Campaign Analytics
After sending, view metrics on the campaign detail page:
| Metric | Description |
|---|---|
| Delivered | Emails accepted by recipient servers |
| Opens | Unique contacts who opened the email |
| Open rate | Opens ÷ Delivered |
| Clicks | Unique contacts who clicked a link |
| Click rate | Clicks ÷ Delivered |
| Unsubscribes | Contacts who clicked unsubscribe |
| Bounces | Emails rejected (hard or soft) |
Hard bounced contacts are automatically marked emailBounced = true and excluded from future sends.
Unsubscribes
Every campaign email must include the {{unsubscribe_link}} variable. Contacts who click it are:
- Immediately removed from all future campaign sends
- Marked
unsubscribed = trueon their contact record - Still visible in the CRM (not deleted)
You cannot override an unsubscribe from the UI — this is intentional for compliance.
Compliance Notes
- Always include a physical mailing address in your email footer (required by CAN-SPAM / GDPR)
- Always include
{{unsubscribe_link}} - Do not import purchased email lists — this violates Prerak's terms of service and damages deliverability
